29-7-2003 Next Office Automation" Seminar

Chinese General Chamber of Commerce (CGCC) and Next Software held the seminar called "Next Office Automation" on July 29 for CGCC's members. In this seminar Mr. WaiTing Li, the Product Director of Next Software, gave a brief introduction of the office automation that was based on the capability in Next Office.

In many SME offices, the most common applications are Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Email and Browser. Presentation and Drawing applications are less commonly used. If one looks deeper into the SME situations, most SME are spending a lot of time in preparation documents by copy-&-paste information from one document/application to another. For example, an invoice and a delivery note have many information (such as customer name, address, order items, etc) in common but an office worker has to copy (or re-type) the information from an invoice in order to generate the delivery note. Any type of automation towards this direction will significantly improve the productivity of SME companies.

During the seminar, Mr. Li introduced the capabilities of Next Office on office automation including: mail-merge, back-end database integration and Next Intelliform.

The seminar was held on the 8th Floor of CGCC's headquarters in Central with more than 40 attendees from CGCC members.
