“DBA”, “Next Software” and TUGA” jointly conducted a seminar called “Combining open technologies, next generation office suite front-end and database back-end to achieve more efficient information management” on May 16, 2003. We had: Mr. WaiTing Li, the Product Director of Next Software and Mr. Sam Li, Consultant of CMT as speakers to explain to the attendees the latest office related technologies.

In the seminar, the speakers gave inspiring snapshots of some crucial open technologies such as XML and then followed by an introduction of the next generation office suite that utilizes these kind of technologies. Immediately after the introduction, Mr Li performed some demonstrations on how to combine an office front-ends with a back-end database to achieve functions such as ad hoc reporting, customer relationship management, etc.

The seminar was held at DBA's headquarters in North Point with around 40 attendances. In May, unfortunately Hong Kong was still under the influence of SARS, and so the attendance was very encouraging.
