25-4-2003 Next Office announced the donation of flowcharting cliparts to OpenOffuice.org in form of GPL license.

In order to make the users more effectively utilizing the Next Office drawing functions, Next Software has included a complete sets of flowchart templates in Next Office 8.1. With these templates, users can create flowcharts easily by simply drag and drop.

Next Office Art Director, James Tsui, said, “There are no such templates in standard OpenOffice dowload version and this creates a lot of inconvenience to end users when preparing flowcharts. StarOffice Suite 6.0 includes some flowcharting templates but they are not under GPL license. In order to overcome this problem, we have created a full set of flowchart templates in-house for bundling with Next Office 8.1. The core of Next Office 8.1 comes from OpenOffice and we have decided to release our flowchart template collection to OpenOffice.org. Our belief is, “We should not only take but also contriute”. We are very happy to share our output with OpenOffice community”
