1-3-2003 Do you want to create “Quick and Nice” ad-hoc reports?

Next Software and Technology User Groups (TUGA) jointly conducted a seminar called “Do you want to create “Quick and Nice” ad-hoc reports?”. On that day, Ms Elaine Xavier of TUGA delivered a keynote speech to the audience on the the latest news of the internet evolution together with a retrospect description and her insight on future trends.

Then followed by Next Software's Business Development Director, Mr. Raymond Chan, who delivered an introduction on Next Software's missions and officially announced on the seminar the release of Next Office Database (MySQL) Extension. Users of Next Office from commercial and education sectors can use Next Office with this database extension to improve productivity.

Then followed by Next Software's Product Director, Mr. WaiTing Li, who conducted a presentation of the details of how to use Database (MySQL) Extension with Next Office.

Users of Next Office, via Database (MySQL) Extension, thus can save months of time, plus manpower, in database adminstration and application development. Mr Li pointed out that users in LAN environment can share one database server or connect to different databases via various connectors in Next Office. Such an working approach with MySQL database can strengthen collaboration and greatly improve productivity in a group.

Mr. Li further pointed out that end users has to understand Data Source concepts in order to efficiently use “MySQL extension”. Finally, Mr. Li demonstrated how to use Next Office together with Database (MySQL) extension to perform efficient data searching.
